Do the Ukrainian citizens have weapons? Not that I am suggesting they use them during a "peaceful" protest, but thought it could be an interesting discussion seeing the proposed oppression of gun rights in the US.

Odd thing happened this morning. A construction worker who I've never met came into Starbucks this morning and saw the headline on my NYT paper.
He came up to me and said "Sir, I lived in Kiev for 5 years. Those are nice people. They suffered a lot under the Germans and then under the USSR. They're suffering again.."
I just said "Yes, I agree."
Then he got his coffee and walked out. If he had sat down I would have engaged him in a conversation about Kiev but he had to get off to work.
I'm gonna just guess and say that American construction workers have been contracted with their American companies to do work there. I don't think he just went to live there on a whim.

It is really exciting. Say what you want about violence, but one feels a sense of power and happiness when he commits it.
