Will request
I think there a lot of things we should not encourage our children be "Exposed" to...so they are quote "more rounded or cultured".
These cities are rank among the worse on my list to raise a child.
what say you?

“It is my strong desire…that my son, Cooper Hoffman, be raised and reside in or near the borough of Manhattan…or Chicago, Illinois, or San Francisco, California,” the actor says in his 13-page will filed in Manhattan Surrogate’s Court Wednesday morning.
quote:
“The purpose of this request is so that my son will be exposed to the culture, arts and architecture that such cities offer,” the acclaiming screen and stage star wrote.

Why do you rank them so low? San Fran is pretty awesome and I've heard good things about Chicago.
It's not like the kid will be attending public schools there

Only someone from one of these cities would vote that those are the best places to be raised.
Sad story, if he hadn't been a drug addict, he would actually get a say.

Having lived in SF and now NYC....
wouldn't raise a kid in Manhattan. They grow up way too quickly.
SF without a doubt, I would. Has the architecture. Has the culture. Has a ton of nature. Good arse schools. Big time entrepreneurial spirit.

Too bad Hoffman cared more about his heroin than raising his 13 year old son.

Gee let me guess - you're a Christian and a social conservative.

He seems like a responsible parent, and his wishes should be entirely respected....
Oh, wait. Never mind.

I'm actually pretty sure he did attend public school in Manhattan.

As is the case with many parents across this land. Maybe not heroin, but some drug or alcohol.

Sounds like your problem since those are three of the best cities in the country.

probably because you are not a millionaire
I would imagine being the child of a famous actor living in NYC, Chicago, or San Fran would be freaking amazing.
It's not like he would be going to public schools.

I don't know about y'all, but when I'm deciding where I want to put roots down and raise a family I know architecture is definitely a top priority.

Even if he was, I'm sure the public schools that he would attend would be fantastic.

Exactly.
NYC is the best city ever when you're a millionaire +

Like everyone said, the child would only be exposed to the best each city could offer. Being rich, and living in a awesome house in San Fran would be one of the best experiance's a human could have. Especially your childhood.

Well, to be fair, San Francisco does have lots of parades.

Only conservative, reactionary bible-thumping southern redneck religitards would fear their children being raised in those 3 cities. Like a previous poster said, the problem is with you and your fearful conservative brethren, not Hoffman.
