Looks like i be there tomorrow night. Anybody got any intel on Asheville grub? Also good lodging in proximity to good grub would be a plus. Never been there.

We went there last year. I really liked the Tupelo Honey Cafe.

Also, the Grand Bohemian Hotel is nice.

Friend of mine heads up the kitchen @ Frog's Leap Public House in Waynesville, NC. Which is about 30 miles west of Asheville. That's all I got... FLPH

One night? If you want hotel/food/drink all nearby, stay downtown.

Hotel - Haywood Park or A Loft

Food - Curate, Cucina 24, Market Place, Zambra

Drink - Jack of the Wood, Wicked Weed, 5 Walnut, LAB, Thirsty Monk, Rankin Vault, Barley's, Ben's Tune Up

Awesome, downtown looks like the place. It will be one night this trip but it could potentially turn into a regular visit. I'm pretty familiar with NC but have never spent time around Asheville. Thanks.

Stay at aloft, which is right next door to the wicked weed brewery (go to the basement for the better beers)

Also, right across the street from Barley's.

Pork Que knows what's up. I spend a pretty decent amount of time in Asheville and would second all that he recommends. If you do go by Wicked Weed, definitely head downstairs. Thirsty Monk has always been hit-or-miss for me, at least in terms of trying to find things that are new to me. Unless you go to the floor with their European stock. Nonetheless, it's still a really solid beer bar. There are also a shite ton of breweries in the era worth visiting, but if it's a one night affair you'll probably miss out on that.

Their third floor that's a Prohibition Era cocktail bar is pretty trendy, but not really my thing. If I'm doing liquor, I want bourbon, and I don't want all that stuff to dilute the taste.

Wicked Weed is good for location, convenience, and diversity of selection. The disclaimer is that their beer isn't knock your socks off amazing. It's good and I always stop there, but don't have grandiose expectations.

That being said, last time I was there their sours were pleasantly surprising.
