Not going to happen. Didn't happen for Souhern Miss last year with a mid-30s RPI.

That ULL loss looms large.

ETA: and before this debate starts, LSU would destroy Tech. Tech is the better team, but JOB, Mickey and Martin are exactly the kind of matchup Tech gets blown out against. JOB alone would go for 30 and 15.

USM not getting in last year certainly does not bode well. We are going to be kicking ourselves in the arse for trying to sleep walk through ULL.

We might be in for a LSU-LTU battle royale in the NIT. The folks at ESPNU must be salivating...

I think LSU would win because of JOB, but destroy? Not so much.

LSU can't hang on to the ball as is, much less taking on a team that is top 5 in the country in turnover margin.

Best team in the state

Probably won't get in without winning the conference tourney though

Wasn't Tech in the same position last year? If I remember they lost early in the conf. tournament and cost them a bid to NCAA

Different situation. Last year our two toughest games were at the end of the season and we dropped both and then choked in the conference tourney. We would have had to win it to be in the dance.

This year, the hard games were out the way early

at 78 in the RPI, they have regular season games left against 218, 167, 75, 166, and 291...

A CUSA team will not get an at large bid unless their rpi is in the 20s.

ULL and USM loses should have been wins.

If tech gets to conference championship against USM and barely loses they will get an at large assuming that a shitty team from another conference doesn't win their tourney thus making that conferences regular season champ an at large selection.

For instance witchita st loses their tourney to another team then conference champ gets auto invite and witichta st would get an at large.

With an rpi in the high 70s or low 80s ???? no chance at all ...

When was the last time cusa got two teams in the tourny ???

It's a terrible conference. No clue why la tech was so happy about getting into cusa

So, if strength of schedule is the problem the question is obvious. Why don't you guys schedule some tougher non-conference games?

wait if Raheem comes back and plays ball like he is known, things could get interesting. fwiw I think Speedy could throw lsu for a spin once the floor is opened.
