How would a statist respond to the scarcity issue?

Marx believed it was a "bourgeoisie myth" that was intended to keep prices high.

Their "solution" is always the same...."more government".

I think the biggest problem is that our citizenry has no idea what the role of the price system is in an economy. Most have been taught their entire lives that government knows how to better allocate our resources than we do.

The New Deal and Great Society were ALWAYS taught as being beneficial to America. The opposing viewpoint was never given. And why would it? Government, at some level, runs most of our schools. That would be like Walmart owning schools and teaching that their products can be very bad for you.

What do you think Obamacare and min wage laws are?

Also, by the time the most people are done paying all their taxes (federal, state, local), nearly FORTY PERCENT of their money is gone. That means politicians are allocating 40% of what other people have earned.

If you understand what prices are and their role in a society, then you'll see clearly why our economy is in the crapper.
