Any legal experts here? Got in car accident with girl with no insurance/license

Yesterday afternoon I was driving about 35-40 MPH on a road when a girl in a Honda Civic pulled out of a gas station without looking both ways. I slammed on the brakes but it was no use, I ended up t-boning the back end of her car. The damage to my car wasn't that bad, just busted out headlights, a major dent and the metal from my car bent into my tire. After I hit her it looked like she was trying to drive off but it was a busy road so no one would let her over, so I got out and took a pic of her license plate. After that I think she got the idea that its not a good one to drive off.
However it turns out this girl I hit was a girl with no license or insurance. When she said she had no insurance I called a police officer to come over. If she had insurance I would have not done so and gone about my business.
The officer came over but when we were waiting for him a lady I am assuming was her mom showed up in a brand new BMW. I just kept my distance and waited for the officer.
The officer came and when he found out she had no insurance or license, and also had her brother in her car with her, he gave her 3 tickets. The officer gave me a report number.
Problem is that I drive an old car so I only carry the bare minimum for insurance. So because this accident is not covered what are my options. I really don't want to pay for the repairs out of pocket.
One person said I could try to get the VIN number of the girls car and try to go after her parents if they have insurance. I am sure if you are driving a new BMW, you have insurance. But again I am not sure if that was her mother, could have been her aunt or something.
And before anyone asks, yes she was hispanic.

Happened to my girlfriend. You're fricked and will have to just take the hit on your insurance.

Still posting? No spine.
As for the OP: Do you have uninsured motorists on your policy?

You'll be lucky if they don't come after you

I bet you believe that hitting the back of someone's car always makes you the guilty party

No, bare minimum
But GEICO told me also to get the VIN number of the car I hit and see if its tied to her parents.
If she really was a 15 year old who shouldn't be driving, someone had to buy the car, and that person should have insurance

LA. has a no-pay no-play rule.
So if you hit someone and they are in violation of the insurance regs, you won't owe them.

I gave the girl my insurance info when I was waiting plus the girl took pics of my car.
But she was at fault, the officer even said so
My insurance shouldn't have to cover shite

When did it become ok for people to just pull out in front of you in traffic? This shite happens to me about three times a week. These assholes pull out in front of you and want you to go around them.

u don't have UM?
I drive an older model car(2001 with 175k miles), no point in insuring it for anything but the bare minimum

I want to say opting out of my UM was only gonna save me like 25 bucks a month. worth it

Even though it wasn't my fault?
No way in hell I was going to be able to avoid hitting her. She literally pulled straight out without looking and even though I slammed my brakes it was no use
