I think this year is going to be a struggle. I'm hoping for at least a wild card playoff birth.

their acquisitions have been less than appealing.

Lineup will be better than last year

Bullpen should keep it rolling but hopefully a good closer can be landed(don't think Scheppers is closer material)

Key will be treading water until Derek Holland comes back, Perez picking up where he left off and Matt Harrison returning to form. Right now we have Darvish, Harrison, Perez in the rotation... need a 4th and 5th starter to at least be average until Holland comes back.

Hopefully Ogando starts but doesn't get hurt like he normally does. When he is healthy he is a good starter. Also perhaps Colby Lewis could return to where he was before his injury but I am not counting on it.

Nick Tepesch was bad last year I really hope he doesn't grab a spot.

I think the division is the Rangers to lose though, only way the Rangers don't win the division is if the rotation underachives compared to last year.

Wait till Quindam (sp?) finds this thread and tells you last in the West since Yu can't beat Oakland and isn't an ace.

Maybe Feliz can return to form.

Between Hanson, Lewis, Ross, Tepesch, & Ogando we should be able to find a .500 arm.

The Ranger offense in the BPiA should keep us in any game.

Tepesch was garbage last year... wasn't he the pitcher whose opponents batting average the 2nd and 3rd time thru a lineup was ridiculously high, like .350 or something?

He was too easy to figure out.

Starting pitching will be a concern, but I see them winning their division. ~93 wins

Contender for a WC spot. If Hanson can be healthy and eat innings for half a season until Holland gets back, maybe they can contend with the A's for the AL west title. I still wish they would go and sign Morales for a 1 yr deal

Lineup is improved, strong bullpen, Feliz is back to throwing in the high 90s, staff should be able to hold it down until at half with Harrison coming back and Holland out.

You're looking at a playoff team. Don't be a Quidam.

They picked up two of the top-30 in OBP last year, one of which is a top leadoff hitter, something Kinsler couldn't do (Choo - .423 Kinsler - .344), moved Kinsler to make their top prospect in a long time Profar an everyday player. I would say that's solid.

What's going to remain to be seen is if Rios can hold down the spot behind Beltre and how the rotation can hold up until Holland comes back. Thought Burnett could be an option, but not for $16 million

He wouldn't have been good back in the AL anyways IMO especially considering the price. We survived with scraps at the backend last season... we should be good enough until the break.

The pitching staff will be the huge wild card. A lot of guys trying to return from injury (Feliz, Harrison, Ogando, Lewis). Will be interesting to see how many can return to form. Offense should be improved but I'm trying to manage expectations for Choo. I worry about a fall off for him.

Just checked out some of the offseason moves that slipped under my radar. Did not know they signed Arencibia at catcher. He really fell off last year and has terrible ratios (K:BB), but I always liked the guy's skill set and potential. Hopefully he puts it together and can add pop behind/alongside Geo.

Also didn't know just how far Daniel Bard had fallen. Signed to a minor league deal. Dude was an elite setup man for a stretch not too long ago (albeit a short stretch).

They will fade faster than Yu in the sixth innings. 65 wins at best.
