Most movie posters designed for American audiences are pretty lame. Here's some "re-imagined" posters that look sweet.

This Iron Giant poster may end up on a wall in my media room. It's gorgeous.

While awesome, it sucks because you will never get one.

I mean I get the idea of limited, (and I have 1 Mondo poster), but in this day and age come on. Kind of a terrible concept.

Those are cool.

Not to hijack the thread, but I caught a great documentary on Netflix the other night about artist Drew Struzan who's work is, well...fairly famous.

Germans but worth a repost:

"What if...?" Movies reimagined for another time & place

This one is interesting b/c Borgnine, O'Neal and Leone were all considered for the film at various times

This is the project Welles went to Hollywood intending to film

Well, that's not necessarily correct... The way I see it, I really want to pay the artist for his brilliant work, but the artist/distributor has decided to no longer sell the posters... but the image is available right there online....

I've made movie posters through vistaprint.com for images that are no longer available for sale.

In my media room I currently have the following "movie posters" decorating the walls:

And I made a poster of this book cover because I really like the book:

I've also got two "legit" posters that are originals that I paid over $40 a piece for because I could find them for sale. I'm all about the artist getting the money for their art. But when I can't buy them legitimally, I see no problem with using vistaprint to make a poster for my personal use. I'm not selling them or making a profit, just love the art and want it on my walls.

I didn't know that existed. I figured you would have to get a nice raw image size to get a good poster copy.

And vistaprint won't check for Copyrights?????

I'm all over that.

Yep,

I was surprised that vistaprint didn't care either. The one down side to using them is that from then on I've been spammed with e-mails from them trying to sell their other services. But I can filter that out.

As far as image quality, the higher the definition of the raw image, the better the print will look. But the two pics above made great posters and cost me $12 a piece. The frames cost more than that LOL.

my reading comprehension is shite. depends on the type of image. 499px × 700px jpeg turned out alright, but due to the pixelation, wasn't perfect. 600px × 296px jpeg was absolutely perfect.
