DTV or DISH is the best selection, probably not the lowest cost when you average it out over the 2 year commitment.
DTV is the only one with Sunday Ticket if that is required.
DISH is very similar to DTV, but does not have ESNPU in HD right now. That is really the only difference in sports programming. Unless you want PAC12 networks which is only available on DISH.
DISH has better/faster equipment IMO. Hopper > Genie
DTV has more straight forward billing, as is more consumer friendly when asking for specials.
U-verse is a subpar product...

Direct, but make sure they have the GD dish angled and braced correctly. I hate it when the mf'ers go out in the rain

How much is direct TV for 2 year?

Disagree. Hopper limits what can be recorded. Genie lets me record 5 of my choosing plus the 2 additional receivers in my house means I can record 9 shows of my choosing at once.
DTV also has more HD channels by a good margin.

Not disagreeing, Hopper limits to 3 tuners at this point. I should have let that be known.
However, IMO DISH interface and the overall responsiveness of the box is much better than the Genie right now.
Arguing HD between DISH and DTV is pointless, except for ESPN U. Unless there is a specialty channel you must have

Lots of factors, package etc...
Just go online, find the package you want and then determine the 2nd year pricing. As the rates given are typically for only the first year.
Then find someone you know who has DTV, and get their account number so you can get an additional 10 dollars off for 10 months through their referral program.
Outside of that, know they will stack on fees for DVR, etc. So calling in is your best bet to get bottom line pricing. Just call and tell them you are getting pricing, and they will throw everything they can to get you to sign up before getting off the phone.

Most cable companies are no contract providers. Typically harder to get a bottom line price, but the idea is the same.
You might be able to save some money through Cox if you are bundling.
I do not have any direct experience with them, except in TN. Hopefully they have improved their DVR and interface, because it was garbage before.

Directv has been great to me for years. Only problem is they do not have CST or CSS.

DTV. I go Justin's house for the stuff on CST.

More up to date HI-DEF Forum discussion
Uverse is an IPTV solution and is just different than their competitors other than FIOS. In Birmingham I am guessing they only use 25Mbps because the PQ is the poorest from any provider.
They compress like crazy to fit it in a 6Mbps stream. So they can provide 3/4 hd streams at once.
