Ive noticed as of late that 18 wheelers are started to set off my detector. Its definitely something on the front end of the 18 wheeler as the signal is almost nonexistant on the back end, but on the front end it is very strong. Are they installing some kind of collision detection on 18 wheelers now?

What kind of detector do you have?

I have a valentine one and sometimes other cars or 18 wheelers set mine off too. Usually it high end luxury cars that do it.

I think it's a device that communicates with the weigh in motion sensors at interstate weight stations

a lot of trucking companies have devices that will signal to corporate anytime they follow to close, maybe that thing is setting it off?

It's the PrePass beacon they buy to bypass scales.

that those new radars the expensive cars have for cruise control. Keeps you a certain distance from the vehichle in front of you.

not sure about 18 wheelers but a new SClass set mine off the other day.

Long time V1 user, until 6 months ago. Switched to Escort Passport Max.

Much quieter, enjoy the GPS function for red light and speed cameras. Radar performance is better than V1. Laser, only have had one encounter and it missed picking up the signal.

I miss the arrows and bogey counter that V1 offers, but in advanced mode, I can at least see how many sources of radar I am detecting.

I have one, and no they do not

I have X turned completely off, and don't ever get signals from 18 wheelers. Only stray thing I get them from is Audis, Benzes, and BMWs and those are all K and Ka. Well, that and Trailblazer lights(laser)

I'm sure Opelousas cops have more things to worry about than if you're speeding: namely rape, murder, armed robbery, the homeless issue, trying to get rid of that smell and other Opelousas stuff.

CB's are getting pretty powerful nowadays, I'm sure that has somethin' to do with it.
