Spinoff: decent record player?

Have some vinyl; nothing to play it on. Any recommendations.? $500 or less please.

Lower End

I'd try to pick up a second hand older turntable- Technics, dual, etc. You can find a really solid record player for under $100 if you wait it out on craigslist.

is that lower end a rip off of the technics 1200s?

Yes it is, but it actually plays pretty well. They're not bad at all. I'd pay for one of those before, say, a Crosley.

Rega makes a few that are equally as good.

I use a VPI Aries 3 with a Lyra cartridge...FYI
