My lil bro and some of his buddies are going next Wed and just want to make sure they arent paying to bird watch. May go myself if reports are good.

They need to watch out for that guy. He will charge them a lot of money to skywatch.

Even if you're on a good mess of birds, it's hard to have a good hunt because they usually don't move a whole lot this late in the year

That's what I figured, I would never pay for a conservation hunt in SLA

I'm currently offshore but one of my lease partners hunted our place in klondike last friday, saturday & sunday. 300 rags, 2 dozen hard bodies & 2 e-callers.

4 hunters in blind all 3 days.

0 shots fired friday

0 shots fired saturday

10 shots fired sunday (sky busting @ 1 group of snows) - 4 birds killed

In my opinion, rags & callers work best in the fog. Just my $0.02 though...

gotta have wind

15+best

in the fog with an ecaller alone is the best IMO

Went on a David Smith hunt last year. You can't drink beer the night before in the camp. He preaches to you a good bit, and tries to convert non believers. And when we winged a bird he didn't think it was important to find the injured bird. Frick that guy.

I think it is safe to say that the OB gives David Smith a downvote...
