Tyreke Evans did not play in Sunday's game due to coach Monty Williams' decision, but the Pelicans have not provided any more details.

Williams described it as "an internal matter" and we'll pass along any more information as it becomes available. The Pelicans play again at Toronto on Monday, so Evans' owners can only hope that whatever caused his DNP-CD was short-lived. Stay tuned.

Asked after the game why he didn’t play, Evans responded by saying, `He (Williams) said it all,’ before declining further comment.

What gives?

Guy doesn't even fit well. If he's not happy with coming off the bench, let him go.

frick that shite

If they keep Gordon's punk arse for his whole contract and don't keep Reek for even half a fricking season I'm done

Let me know where we have a new front office so I can start following this team again

Completely fricking agree. That would would be pretty much the dumbest decision a GM has ever made if Demps did that shite.

Supposedly Monty didn't like the way he played Friday. Monty is single handedly killing this team. I know it's :beatdeadhorse: but he really needs to go.

1) If it were injury related it seems like they'd use injury as an excuse unless they were wanting to embarrass him and let people know he was grounded. Considering he's come back early from injury before this seems pretty unlikely.

2) For the most part Tyreke is getting the minutes and role he signed up for. Maybe there was some argument over his execution of something that blew up, but Tyreke seems to have been a pretty good soldier.

3) Trade. 5 days from now I would lean towards this, today it seems a little early. If we are trading him this early then Demps thought it was a deal he couldn't pass up.

4) He did something bad enough to get a suspension. Maybe he got in a fight with someone, or DUI that they were able to sweep under the rug. Maybe he got his 10th tardy.

I'm leaning toward 3 or 4.

ya, the guy asked him if Reke was out because of injury...it would have been easy for Monty to blame it on that.

Instead, he took the opportunity to call it "an internal matter"

Tyreke isn't getting traded because know one is taking him with that crap contract, unless we are getting complete garbage in return.

It's likely he has been dogging it and Monty benched him.

It's not really that bad of a contract for a 24 y/o that can score at will and play 3 positions

Dude's got value

Reke and Monty not communicating

Just another reason for Monty to GTFO

But seriously, this dumbass front office would trade Reek

One of two players on the team that a casual viewer can have fun watching

A player that actually generates excitement when he has the basketball in his hands, and this front office is falling over themselves to fricking trade him (maybe)

Jesus. I hope to god this isn't because we're trading him

The best thing about his contract is that it descends in value. He's a good player but isn't all that efficient and is spectacularly terrible from 3. He gets to the cup at will though.

But he's not all that tradeable.

Yep, and he's fun to watch. Something that is very important for a small market team with basically zero national buzz around it.

Well I hope we aren't making team decisions based on who is fun to watch and who is viewable...
