Of course the numbers are a little flawed, with most of the Georgia players signing with Georgia, Alabama or Auburn, while most of the Florida players sign with Florida and two teams outside of the SEC (Miami and Florida State)..but seeing Louisiana so low made me look twice.

Mississippi has the luxury of having JUCO's galore, so that wasn't a huge shocker.

Georgia - 53
Florida - 45
Mississippi - 37
Texas - 35
Alabama - 25
Louisiana - 21
Tennessee - 18
Missouri - 13
South Carolina - 13
Arkansas - 6
Kentucky - 3

I would have thought Louisiana would have been behind just a few states. With the amount of top notch talent we had this year I am a little suprised as well

I would guess that Louisiana would jump Alabama and Mississippi if the criteria were changed to FBS or Div 1. Maybe?

But I would think Texas, Florida, and Georgia would be the highest, then.

Interesting stuff.

Means per capita doesnt mean shite when other states have 100 more top recruits than you. the whole it is easy to recruit at LSU is a myth.

21 players in the sec. some of them not good enough to play at LSU. how the hell can you compete? You cant unless you go oos.

Cursory look shows 70 of the top 100 signed with FBS schools from LA.

Looks like 71 of the top 100 signed with FBS schools from Alabama. That was a little shocking.

ETA: I'll try to go back for the others later.

there were guys from louisiana with sec/ offers that signed with other conferences.

Pac 12 got at least 3 guys with multi offers in conference.

And I hate autocorrect because I have to put a / behind sec/ or else it becomes second.

It'd be interesting to see non-SEC states that produce a lot of recruits: California, Ohio, North Carolina, Virginia, Maryland, Illinois, etc.

Non-SEC schools aggressively went after LA kids. LA players who have offers from within the SEC were feeling more love from schools like Nebraska, OU, and Oregon so they went west. McGraw had a choice between Oregon and TAMU. The only guy with an LSU offer who left the conference was Young.

29 of 37 from MS signed with State or Ole Miss (so not so much JUCO influenced plus Voorhies). Doesn't mean they were a take for LSU or Bama, but they still landed in SEC nonetheless.
