Two things..

Firstly, If I delete my entire camera roll to free up some space on my phone, will my stream still maintain all my photos? I mean I *think* it will, but I want to be sure before I wipe out my pictures.

Secondly, How do I mass delete photos if in fact, they'll be safe for future viewing? (I don't want to go one by one and click "delete")

TIA

Why not transfer them all to your computer first?

Just hit "select" and you can tap them all and do a group delete.

Because I don't want to have to bring my computer with me when I want to show someone a picture

Or invite them back to the apt to see a picture from last weekend...

And if I do this, the photos that have already synced to my Photo Stream won't be affected... correct?

iCloud only holds the last 1000 pics anyway I believe. It drops the oldest ones. If you install the iCloud tool on your PC, it sets up a folder where can view them. Anything in there will show up on your feed.

Nevertheless, I believe as long as you're just deleting from your camera roll, nothing gets deleted from the cloud. Delete one and find out.

1. Yes

2. Tap edit, then yol be able to "check" the photos you want to delete and delete them all at once.

For anyone else who is interested in what happens, it also deletes your photo stream... FML.

not sure how you have deleted yours but my 4 or my 5s has ever deleted my icloud photo stream when deleting photos from my phone. I have almost completely different photo sets on both my photo stream and my phone and then I have a shared set of photos too.

If you go through and select pictures through the edit thing, you can "share" them to icloud and create folders to share them too, that stores them on a server and those never appear on the phone. I think that the shared photos on the camera roll are still saved on the phone, just in a different folder that allows you to access them through iPhoto.
