Would you want him? He plays the 3, plays D, can score the ball, on a rookie contract, and is fighting for playing time. His name keeps coming up in trade rumors.

He would fill the need at the 3 for us and he'd be another young piece to pair with AD. If he gets more minutes, maybe he would develop into a legit starting SF.

What would it take from us to get him?

GS wouldnt want Gordon.. they have enough guys on their team taking plenty of shots. They need another big and we don't have one to give

If Steimsma can play close to what he did vs. the Hawks on a consistent basis, we may be able to get something for him from a playoff bound team desperate for a big man. Not saying we could net Barnes, but we may be able to get something for him.

With everyone wanting Klay last season, I might have been the only one on this board that would have taken Barnes for Gordon last season - understanding that GSW was never going to trade Klay.

I think Barnes would be a good fit with the Pels current roster makeup.

No. A ton of people would've happily swapped Barnes and Gordon.

I don't think he is that much better than Aminu. Barnes is better as a 4 than a true 3. I would really prefer we just pick up CJ Miles in FA.

He's not, but their skill sets are completely different.

Barnes would be a great fit on this roster because he can shoot.

The ball always ends up in Aminu's hands because no one guards him on the perimeter. And then, to make it all worse, he thinks he can shoot it.

You mean Aminu?

ETA: I know there's no chance of getting Barnes. Just wanted to state why I think he'd be a good fit.

It depends on when you're talking. There was one point in time when a good chunk of the board would have done Thompson + Barnes but not just Thompson for Gordon, so Barnes for Gordon definitely wouldn't have been popular here. And in hindsight Golden State leaking the proposal of Thompson for Gordon so they could publicly laugh at it and Demps seems like the proper response.

this is what I remember. And only MrPappagiorgio being one of few to agree that a Gordon for Barnes swap would be more realistic

He may not be the starter, but he is getting 30 min per game which is very close to starter minutes. He has big time potential and with him GS has one of the better SF tandems in the league.
