imgur is the only answer.

Some days I want to make a TD related image hosting site like it with avatar resizing and auto-resizing for massive photos just to make this a better place, but then I remember that I hate most of you. Chicken should get on that, though. It could be the perk of TD Pro.

You can do this when you post a picutre, just put width=400 at the end of your link:

LINK width=400

You can resize on imgur, as well. Most people just neglect it. TD Mobile's auto-resize is not an actual image resize. It's a CSS trick, but that does nothing for the actual web experience. I've just seen tons of people with questions over the years on how to post a photo or resize photos/avatars. A simple application to do that for them without them having to judge what is an appropriate size would be money.

I understand that, but there's a large majority of people who don't. Not to mention, keeping your market here only strengthens the TD brand. It wasn't mean to be a "killer app idea". It was just something I've always thought of relating to this place. A proper, beautiful Windows 8 application for it is another thing I've always wanted to do.

That's more of a page load issue. If everyone's avatars were gifs, loading forum pages would be a nightmare.
