What would be some good trends to try and find in film and/or television (other than the PCU research project)?

I'd love to see the ratio of films made by Americans about Americans saving the world, compared to other countries making films about themselves saving the world. Ours has to be astronomical in comparison. Methinks.

Dracula is the most popular character of all time, we know, but who are the rest?

How many foreign films feature non-English cultures speaking in English with British accents? Is there a trend over the years?

Any other fun stuff we could look at?

How American films tend to have a piss poor understanding of world geography (i.e. pyramids in the middle of nowhere instead of right outside a major city). Wonder if foreign films would have mountains in the Louisiana or something like that

Good call.

Two words:

Ammunition Businsses in the film universe. I'd love to see Bullets Per Year in Movies extended over time.

and i guess i should've said in movies where country vs country etc isn't really a thing. of course "villains" will have foriegn accents in war, spy movies etc.
