Just got this beast in via UPS a few minutes ago.

Princeton Tec Apex

Ordered from TigerDirect on Monday for 80 bones

275 Lumens
4-AA Battrees
Main Beam - Hi-Lo
Side 4 LED- Hi-Lo-Strobe
72Hr Burn Time on Main Beam-Hi
Blinking battery meter

The battery pack is a little more bulky than the Apex Pro, but I wanted the maximum burn time and lumens.

It is extremely well balanced weight-wise, and not heavy at all.

A frog, and a frog only, can be spotted at approximately 393 feet

Sweet light, what was the cost?

I ordered a Cree for my son's bike, I ended up using it for frogging instead. Brighter than my Hardhat 12V light and battery pack straps to you belt. Everyone that has been frogging with me since has ordered one They're $25.00 on Ebay.

The link is not for the ebay deal thanks to my work firewall But it shows the light.

Cost $80 from TigerDirect.

I found it for $65 on another site, but all they had were red and green side LED (no white).

It was a birthday gift, so I dont have to worry about buyers remorse of dropping $80 on a light

I know the feeling. Old one are the best.

On a serious note though, that headlamp looks pretty awesome. I could see that thing coming in very handy at the boat launch during salmon season.

I will put it to the first test this summer while lauching kayak, etc.

I am coming from a $30 Surefire headlamp that actually worked awesome, but I lost the battery door cap last year.

Im really looking forward to using it during duck season.
