1) anyone can trade after hours.
2) trading after hours isn't making the money, owning the stock is making the money.

You semantical bastards.....most trade accounts dont allow after market trading....fidelity....td ameritrade etc.

The point is that this info was released after hours. Therefore you couldn't "easily" buy green Mountain to take some profit on the jump.

I've got a few shares of GMCR. Didn't have access to trade AH. Planning on selling 2/3 of my position and take some profits.

Uh you most definitely can trade after hours with those brokerages.

ETA: I think they did halt trading right before the announcement/earnings... But this shouldn't really affect you.

I have Schwab and TD Ameritrade accounts and both of them allow me to trade pre and after market.
