Chairman of the White House Council of Economic Advisors Jason Furman contended Obamacare could still make individuals better off even if it incentivized them to work less Tuesday in the White House press conference. A CBO report released today indicated Obamacare will reduce the number of full time workers by 2 million over the coming years.

The Harvard educated Furman used a hypothetical of an individual who may elect to work 35 hours a week instead of 60 hours a week to garner a greater subsidy or be eligible for Medicaid, thus purportedly making that individual better off.

Fox News reporter Ed Henry challenged Furman, asking how someone could be better off if changes in the Affordable Care Act would make it appealing for an individual to effectively cut their income in half. Furman deflected, telling Henry he would not prescribe the most rational economic course of action for every single worker in America.

Well then...

When you are that divorced from reality I don't have anything to add, there is no room for discussion with such a dyed in the wool partisan at that stage of 'head in sand'.

What did anyone expect? Obama is a clown who's never in his life worked in the private sector. He's never run his own business. He doesn't have the education to solve problems. He is unfit to manage a fast food joint, let alone the country.

I don't really blame him though. I blame the people that put someone like him in office. There is no fix for the ignorant, uneducated, herd mentality masses.

Each and every one of us will ultimately face the consequences of their own ignorance and may God help us all when we do.

We'd be better off if Obama would cut his hours back by about 3 years.

Y'all don't get it, if your hours are cut you get extended unemployment, food stamps, Obama phones, Medicaid, Section 8 housing, energy vouchers. It is only a matter of time before basic cable is right.

I'm waiting for the usual suspects to come and try to defend this, I just don't think it's possible.

Is there an institution with a "better" record of churning out economically illiterate, central planning douchebags than Harvard?

I really don't know how they come up with these answers. How does a person say these things with a completely straight face?

bullshite. Nobody wants to be on the government teat. They're all hard working individuals down on their luck who can't get good paying jobs because the SATs are racist.

So, Obama's own economic adviser just admitted that government subsidies cause people to want to work less.

Didn't Obama tell us that people want to work and he's never met anyone who wanted to game the system for welfare benefits?

I fricking hate these people w/ every inch of my being. Too bad I'm only 5' 8".

I don't even know where to begin with that stupidity. The fact that this isn't plastered everywhere in the media just goes to show how complicit they are with this guy. Bush/palin/etc would have been drawn and quartered for much much less.
