Should the Broncos offer an extension to John Fox?

So the big discussion in Denver is if the Broncos should extend Coach Fox's contract. Fox's contract is set to expire after the 2014 season, and in December it was announced that one of the team's priorities was to extend him in the off-season. He led, for the most part, the highest scoring team in NFL regular-season history. However, he also is responsible for having the third worst blowout loss in Super Bowl history.

If he is not offered an extension, it's pretty telling that he will not be the head coach in 2015, barring a Super Bowl victory.

So win the super bowl or get fired?

Sounds reasonable

SC has the worst blowout in SECCG history. I guess they should've fired spurrier soon after.

Not at all.
Auburn should get rid of Gus too.

He should be offered an extension. But during contract negotiations it should be noted that he has his team woefully unprepared for the Super Bowl and embarassed the franchise. It's part of his resume just as much as the 18 games leading up to it this season.

I agree that he should be offered an extension. I'm a fan of Coach Fox, however that performance was down right embarrassing for the Broncos. He would have gotten a fat extension, and a million dollar bonus had he won the game.

The consensus on the radio was that most fans didn't want him to be offered an extension, because they feel like Manning wouldn't be around after 2014 and that the franchise will need a new look. I don't agree with this fwiw.

His resume: 3 seasons in Denver, 3 AFC West championships. Made it to the divisional round each year. 1 AFC championship, 1 of 4 teams in the AFC to make the Super Bowl in the past decade.

Yes he should be extended. And
I'm sure he's aware that his team vastly underperformed in the final game. I don't think it's necessary to take him to task over it.

As far as it hurt the organizations reputation, I'm pretty sure the Broncos have been involved in several of the most lopsided Super Bowls in history.

I will say that making the divisional round with Tim fricking Tebow adds to his resume just as much as the Super Bowl takes away from it.

Wait what game did he just corch in?

Oh ok. Then yes they should keep him. He's a great corch, he was in Carolina as well. They just needed new blood there. We focus too much on rings. Theres only one coach per year that can get one, it doesn't mean you cant coach if you don't have a ring.
