One of the best clubs in Louisiana circa 1999-02.

Both good but during 99-02 Nite Caps was the joint. I heard it went to hell though. Not even sure it is still in business.

We go back and forth the between the two. The strip looks like a 3rd world country these days.. It's ROUGH

Amanda Scott's was before my time. Nite Caps had a pretty good run up until about 2005-06

I heard that about the strip... really a shame. Poet's on Wednesday night for 1$ imports was pretty jam up.

Nite Caps switched roles with the keg around 2003-2006ish. Did the Keg improve when nite caps went to shite? Or are they both complete shite these days?

Yup... those were awesome nights and horrible mornings after!

Drinking on Lincoln down the street was also impressive... but since that was usually on a Wednesday night, that was pretty tough to do!

It's kind of funny to read that because I think it's a generational thing. I got to USL in '88 and The Strip looked like dog shite then...during the day. At night you simply didn't care. Looking back, it has always pretty terrible. haha Pretty sure it didn't spruce up for some glory years around 2000 and then head back down.

Let's see, at that time Nite Caps was down on the end, The Keg was across the street, Mako's was next to it...and then what...Poet's on one corner and Shannahan's across from it? Feel like I'm missing one.

The Pub wasn't far from Nite Cap's on the same side of the street.

Speaking of the strip, what type of joint was the Renaissance trying to be? Never understood that one

The Keg is just coming off a month long shut down for alcohol sales to minors.

Yep...my bad. What was the more frat bar on the same side of the street as Nitecaps and Mako's but toward University?

In my mind's eye, I'm picturing 4 bars on the Nitecaps side and 2 on the other, but I'm clearly missing some names.

Ummm... I thought I remembered Penny Pitchers being on Thursdays? Lord knows I could be wrong... I certainly wasn't in any state of mind to pay attention to any level of detail other than the amount of pennies in front of us!
