Thanks for posting. I used to work for Bank of America. The west coast bank basically grew out of the aftermath of that earthquake. A.P. Giannini supposedly laid a couple of boards across some crates and began lending money to rebuild the city. Out of that came Bank of Italy which later became Bank of America.

Anybody else notice that the width of the horse drawn carriages matched the width of the street car tracks and the one cart drove right down the middle of the track? His ride was much smoother that way. The road surface seemed very uneven.

That is a perfect example of the complete streets that LA DOTD has recently adopted. You had pedestrian (foot and bikes), mass transit, and personal vehicles all being used within the same roadway.
One dude almost got taken out by a street car.
All those vehicles on the same road and zero accidents. All vehicles being driven by men without any traffic control devices.
