Only if symptoms started >48 hrs ago.

Tamiflu will help kick it quicker, but you're stuck with it for a little while now. I had it during the holidays

Took my first Tamiflu around dinner time. You are supposed to have 36-48 hours to start.
Of course, it's not like Tamiflu does that much.

Had the shot for past 15 years, never got flu. Got the flu this year but took Tamiflu and it was light and over in 3 days.

Lesson: shot is better than no shot.

Bonus: you are a pussy if you are afraid of the shot.

Strep throat is worse than the flu. I had it once during the end of spring semester in college. I remember having to move out of my room at the fraternity house for the summer and having a horribly sore throat, bad headache, and a 104.5 fever. I threw up until there was nothing left to throw up and my headache and fever got so bad it started affecting my vision. Went to the emergency room and got a Penicillin shot and starting improving in just a few hours. Penicillin is a heckuva drug.
