If you're executive level, this makes sense.
If not, it seems like overkill.

Two interviews and about a month long background check

7-8 months for me

Local government - 2 weeks accepting applications for a test, then a week later you take test, then 3 months later they interview the top 3 scores, then 3 months after that they make a decision, then a few weeks later you start background check and HR stuff, then a few weeks after that you start
