What's the longest new job process you have been a part of from first interview to being hired? In a process now that has been going on for four months and just got a call back for a fourth interview.

Georgia State Patrol
I started the process in September. Still going through it

If you're executive level, this makes sense.
If not, it seems like overkill.

Publicly traded I assume? Are each of these interviews with different people in different departments?

Hope it's not the same job I'm going after...??

First was basically a clearing house phone interview. Second interview was a phone interview with immediate supervisor. Third interview was in-person with immediate supervisor and a peer. Fourth interview is to be with assistant VP. Publicly traded in the healthcare industry.

HR in General is terrible in the corporate world. Not to mention, all of the beauracracy they have to go through. HR staffs run pretty lean, so it's somewhat understandable.
Plus, many companies put hiring freezes on at the end of the year so you sit in a HR queue until unfrozen.

This definitely makes sense.

4 months for me. It was worth it. I'm in my dream job that I'm gonna retire from.

7-8 months for me
Local government - 2 weeks accepting applications for a test, then a week later you take test, then 3 months later they interview the top 3 scores, then 3 months after that they make a decision, then a few weeks later you start background check and HR stuff, then a few weeks after that you start
