Manchester City made a loss of 51 million pounds in the 2012-13 financial year, despite a record turnover of 271 million pounds.

City, who had a made a loss of 97 million pounds for the previous 12 months and one of 194 million pounds in 2010-11, have halved their losses for a second successive year and say they are on course to break even.

342 pounds in losses over last 3 years. Any other business would have gone bankrupt a long time ago.

if you want to see what UEFA is talking about re: financial doping, look at their "commercial revenue" compared to United, Real, Barca, Chelsea, Arsenal, etc. their losses were significantly more than 51m. only question is whether UEFA calls them on their BS.

what they do, is each year when they turn a loss, another of the sheiks brothers comes forward as a sponsor for another 100mil.

it's a joke

Sure they do. Arsenal has turned a pre-tax profit every year for the past 16 years, aside from one.

Same with PSG. They have hundreds of millions of dollars in "sponsorships" to balance the books.

yeah, the English FA warned Man city, and suddenly a week later another brothers company suddenly offers a 100mil sponsorship. Such a joke.

Man city will be in League 2, when the Sheik bolts and the books are opened and the contracts come home to roost.

bayern, dortmund, real, barca, United

would imagine many others. I'd be shocked if Everton hasn't pulled a profit considering how little they've spent over the years. many smaller clubs simply have to run as a business to keep the doors open.

I think the German league's ownership system facilitates that as well.

Liverpool are all about that shite nowadays. Hence why we still haven't moved for anyone in the window, and didn't last summer for the most part.

terrorist backed cash

but for real they still have issues even filling their stadium and they dont have a shite load of fans outside the city and across the country and world like United,Liverpool,Chelsea and Arsenal to bring in loads of extra revenue.

Throw in the fact they didn't even build their stadium it was given to them by the city of Manchester. Paying off stadium debt would make sense but they dont have it.

Hell yeah I'm hating. If the club I support had a billionaire oil sheik as an owner/benefactor, I'm sure I'd fully support it. But since it doesn't, I'm gonna hate. That's just the name of the game

Did anyone read the article? Did anyone see that City have halved their losses for 3 consecutive years, and are on pace to comply with FFP and be debt free shortly?

Does anyone here know how FFP works? Sponsorships cannot be handed out to the Sheikhs brother for $100 million. These things most be done in an arms-length transaction.

EPL fans mad, City stylin all over Europe.

Edit: typo

that's the thing, everyone is speculating that UEFA will call BS on these sponsorships, mainly the ones from Abu Dhabi. there's absolutely no way these transactions were arms-length when City, who don't have anywhere near the global following of other top clubs (which is what one would base such sponsorship deals on, have similar commercial revenue.

if they don't do something about the sponsorships City will be fine. if they do, City could still be fine, unless they take a hard line approach (seems unlikely).
