So I have most of my jeans in the damn thing and it evidently quit working overnight. Started fine last night and didn't have any problems. Went this morning and had wet jeans and the thing wouldn't turn on. It just buzzes when I press the start button. I have also rotated the timer 360 degrees a few times to no avail.

Any ideas?

This is what happens and the type of dryer. The light comes on, but it doesn't start. Don't have the money to spend on a new dryer right now either.

either that dryer is really old, or your house is disgusting.

Hang them outside on a clothesline.

it sounds like the timer may be fricked up.

Call the Maytag repairman

or go to google and search your problem. That's what I did when mine broke. Instead of a repairman bill, I spent $19.95 at a parts shop and played the youtube video showing me how to fix it.

Is it not working at all or just not getting hot?

Sometimes the door latch switch goes bad, pop it out and jump it, after unplugging the dryer. Plug it back in and press start.

Probably not a good idea today unless you want some cold frozen arse jeans

Mine went out not too long ago. Needed a new belt, motor and blower. If it wasn't for the home warranty I have, it would be better off just buying a new one. Not that expensive. Sure you could find a place to give you 12 months no interest.

Hang them up over a heater.

Could be the thermal fuse burned up. Its a safety deal that shuts it off when it overheats. 2.99 on amazon for new ones

It won't start, just buzzes when I press the start button. Breaker is good

Eta: dryer is also outside in my garage that is separate from the house with no heater

If it is the timer it's cheaper to get another one.

try repair clinic.com.

You'll need model no. from nameplate on the rear of the dryer. They usually have good troubleshooting hints as well as good parts selection.
