Cruise control won't work unless I stomp brake pedal. Any ideas? Press cruise set, nothing happens. Stomp pedal, let go quickly, press button, cruise engages.

Gotta be something to do with whatever relay de-activates the cruise when brake pedal is pressed

Any idea where that is typically located?

This will sound dumb, but a lot of electrical issues are fixed by disconnecting the battery and reconnecting. I have no idea if that will work for your problem

Mine is also out on my 2010. Right above the gas pedal is the piece that relays to the control. $15 part at an auto parts store. I'll try to get a picture of it later.

It is a relay there, but I think his switch to turn cruise off is sticking, thus working after slamming the brake pedal.

Search the internet for that. Could be just the buttons, a relay, the motor, etc

Maybe so. Mine just went out which seems to be pretty common in the 09+ Chevys. This is the part I replaced and it works great now

Just gouge out the light. Don't cost nothing. The motor will run until the sun explodes. Change the oil and don't sweat it.

yes. It's sticking and needs to be replaced. Cheap and easy.

that is correct. Brake light switch but the cruise control relies on it for the signal to disengage.

You did good.
