How is she not a more central figure in the GOP? She should have a prime time speaking spot in the next GOP convention.

Because she keeps losing. In 2008, Fiorina served as an advisor to unsuccessful Republican presidential candidate John McCain. In 2010, Fiorina waged an unsuccessful challenge against incumbent Democrat Barbara Boxer of California in a 2010 Senate election.

She had a primetime spot in the 2008 convention.

I don't know who that is but I am never watching Maher's show again. I might google her later.

She lives in fricking California?

Stop acting like she isn't qualified and just some loser. She was a CEO of a Fortune 500 Company.

She got canned. I didn say she wasn't qualified, just that she hasn't won. I stated a fact. Sorry you dont like those.

She is on a terrible losing streak at the moment to be fair. 86'ed at HP, 86'ed in her bid for Senate against Boxer. She's a great orator though - heard her speak twice at conferences.

Q: Why would John McCain pull her in as an advisor to his campaign? I never understood why politicians seem to think that business people would be a good strategy.

Am I off base in thinking this?

He would have been better off if he had picked her as his running mate.

Maybe in a year when the market hadn't tanked 3,000 points. The stars had aligned for Obama.

She ran Hewlitt Packard straight into the ground. One of the most right wing people I know used to be an HP executive, and he can't stand her.

and McCain was still ahead into September with, oh the horrors, Palin as his running mate until the market got purposely attacked one day, I forget the particulars

and as for Fiorina, quota filler with shoddy record of success but a good speaker, Yeah!, we need that, never been tried before!, even better her being a member of an "Oppressed" group
