Will be there in a few weeks....looking for a good breakfast spot or two. Also looking for a good family restaraunt to celebrate a graduation. Thanks in advance if anyone can help

can't help you out with breakfast spots, but a few lunch/dinner joints I enjoy:
Filet & Vine: my favorite restaurant in the city. plate lunches, sandwiches, etc. and a great store attached with wine, craft beer and quality meats.
El Rey Burrito Lounge: pretty tasty Mexican food. good craft beer selection. it's tiny, no tables that seat more than 6 I think.
Tomatinos Pizza & Bake Shop: solid little pizza joint
True: on Cloverdale. good for Sunday brunch or dinner
Railyard Brewing Co.: cool little brewpub. could be a nice joint for a celebration. they do pretty good food in addition to their in-house beers.
Charles Anthony's: pretty nice little steakhouse in east Montgomery if you're looking for a steakhouse.

You have to go to jubilee seafood. It's in old cloverdale. I've had seafood pretty much every where and the seafood there is as good as anything you will eat. It's pricey but so worth it
El ray has already been suggested. Great and right across the street from jubilee
If you want great pizza, go to Tomitinos or zaza's, which is also in the same area
For a good burger, check out hamburger king downtown.
For BBQ hit up a little place called Sam's. It's downtown also
Edit: all the things Rohan suggested are good.
Also olive room downtown has amazing steaks. One of the nicer restaurants in town
Breakfast is a little limited I guess now that I think about it. Chappy's does a good breakfast but not mind blowing or anything. There is a place called flip's which is on the east side that also has a good breakfast but nothing crazy. Good omlets and stuff
