I Just Cut The Cord

I said bye to cable yesterday (ATT Uverse) and bought a Roku3 and upgraded Uverse internet to the fastest.
I currently have local digital air channels, Plex with a library of ripped DVDs/Downloaded movies, Netflix, Hulu+, Amazon Prime, and all of the channels that come with the Roku.
I was wondering if there is anything else online other than those mentioned that may be worth checking out?
Live TV would be great.
TIA

Do you have to have cable to access ESPN3?
Then only reason I'm keeping cable at the moment is because of live sports and HBOGO requiring a subscription to the premium channel

I am an ATT wireless customer as well as an Internet customer and I can still view Watch ESPN/ESPN3.

I want to do this so bad, but my fiance "needs" the E! channel and it doesn't come with any options for watching shows online (that I was able to find). Maybe there is some way through Roku, but I have not found it yet.
What kind of HD antenna are you using for your local channels?

definitely something I need to look into. CBS Sports allows you to watch sports for free via streaming [which will take care of watch LSU games].
I was originally under the impression that you needed a cable/satellite to acquire ESPN3 while on the go.

Right now a 25$ RCA, but if it works out I plan on getting a long range one. The ABC ch here is the weakest and I can't get it although with this cheap one I get 20 channels.
My wife is mad about no CNN. I told her if you go without it for a month you wont miss it.

How long until ESPN has it's own subscription service?
Posted on 1/21/14 at 10:18 am to JBeam
I pay for Geaux Zone too, btw. Mainly for the baseball.

Most of the networks require a cable subscription.

Keep in mind, Geaux Zone will be gone in August.

Damn all SEC network.
I may have spoke too soon on the ESPN GO. It works now, but they told me yesterday that my cable acct wont actually be cut off until tomorrow. So I guess I'll find out tomorrow.
Oh well fingers crossed. lol
Oh shite, no ESPN I just pulled this from the FAQ:

Which ISPs allow access to WatchESPN?
WatchESPN requires a video subscription from an affiliated provider.

I have used other people's log-on information to get HBOGo access before. If you have a friend or relative that doesn't mind sharing their log on info may be able to get you ESPN and HBO

I'm cancelling cable once the NFL season is over.

Unfortunately my SO would never let this happen. She watches too much crappy live tv

This may be the route I go.
I emailed Geaux Zone about video access after the SEC network takes over and asked if I can get my subscription pro rated if this is the case. The site says nothing about anything changing and my annual acct is due in full in Feb.

Even with the subscriptions to Netflix, Hulu, and Amazon, I'm saving about 100.00 a month.
I reckon I can rent/buy shows that I want or just get the torrent.
100 a month for basically ESPN and CNN? I'll get used to it.

I rarely watch ESPN except during college football season, and frick CNN and all the 24-hour news sites. I dumped cable for 6 months a few years ago and managed fine with only netflix and torrents. Literally, the one thing holding us back is the god damned E! channel. I fricking hate it, but my fiance watches that shite all the time. She said she is fine with cutting the cord as long as she has easy access to the E! channel. frickin fatass kardashians.

Regarding ESPN... you will only have access to ESPN 3. WatchESPN requires a cable subscription. I tried ditching Uverse as well, and had to go back because I wanted WatchESPN.

Between primewire and firstrowsports, I can save a lot without a drop in content. Although I will suffer some in picture quality.
