Should the head referee for the NFCCG be reffing NCAA Bball games the same week?

that's the only excuse I can think of for this terrible display of refereeing

per fox, the head ref worked 2 college basketball games this week before refereeing one of the biggest games of the year

per volfan, it was 3 games.

Indiana/Wisconsin upset on Tuesday
Purdue/Illinois on Wednesday
Siena/Manhattan on Thursday in NYC

tell NFL to pay them full time pay, and stop the asinine stuff about them being part time employees.

and officiating in all sports is pathetic

Is this serious? Do you really think he's not capable of refereeing two sports in one week? He's not gonna be prepping at home to referee this game if he just had free time. It's not like he's the only one making calls out there either.

That's his normal routine... and he hasn't made any of the controversial calls, he has just reported them.

He's not the only official throwing flags.

I don't care. the best refs are supposed to work these games. a guy working 3 college basketball games the same week doesn't have football on his mind.

He is a much better football ref than basketball ref imo.

The refs are all part-timers and most of them probably go to work during the week like normal people.

NFL doesn't want to pay them full-time, so it's on them.

Yeah bc the game he works on Wednesday affects his performance in the game on Sunday...

I never said it wasn't on the NFL. they matched the refs with the games so it's all on them

you don't think getting in the groove of basketball season with rule changes and what not affects his mindset on football?

This.

The part-time shite is absolutely insane.
This is a multi-billion dollar business that refuses to throw in some cash to improve their officiating, which is basically quality control.

I don't think him refereeing earlier in the week has any affect on it though.

I think this being an "all-star" crew has a bigger effect...maybe some of this shitbag calls don't happen or get overturned if he's working with his normal crew.

that's a good point. I imagine the "all stars" get more benefit of the doubt, which I think is what you're getting at

I agree with this. Only the umpire is part of his normal crew. Should keep crews together for the postseason.

The best refs are working the playoffs or so i'd hope... Its about as likely to affect him as whether he ate Italian or Mexican food during the week
