I just finished this book. It was a really good read. I haven't seen the movie yet and was wondering if it was as good as the book?

In my experience the answer to this question has never been yes ever. Ender's game is no exception.

Just saw the movie last night and read the book years ago. The immense pleasure of reading the book was not well translated to the film experience IMO.

Movie was not even close to the book and a lot of that was due to the difficulty of putting on screen the internal struggles of Ender. Pacing was off as well and I think a mini series would have done the book more justice in that respect. Movie leaves out entire story lines also.

Harrison Ford isn't even trying anymore. He's much more interested in his paycheck. Episode 7 is going to suck.

Agreed the most interesting thing he has done in years was being on David Blaine's street magic movie.

Read the book 15 years ago and forgot a bunch. I know the film toned down the child violence, but I thought it was solid. I don't think the game/dreams were transferable to film. Definitely worth the watch, though.

Movie is fricking horrible. Don't waste your money. Don't waste someone else's money. This movie is one of the worst movies I've had the displeasure of sitting through.

Top 3 worst movies that I've ever seen.

It's really a par with TLA? It just looked like a completely bland film to me, to where someone just made it because they simply wanted to get it out of development hell. Didn't look particularly atrocious or got that atrocious of reviews.

Very, very close. The movie was so bad I spent half the time laughing at its absurdity.

So they cut out Ender killing Stilson and Bonzo?

I kinda felt like Orson Scott Card made the kids too young.

And I just saw that Harrison Ford is playing Graff? Lol not who I pictured him as at all. Especially since Graff is a fat body

I agree a 2 part mini series might have done the book better justice or maybe a 2 movie adaptation.

Just to much to fit into a 2 hr or more movie.

I'll go on record here and say Harrison Ford is the most overrated big time actor...ever. He's had some good roles but nothing that another actor couldn't have done. He has like two facial expressions, no voice inflection, and displays no range. All his characters are the same.

Total hijack.

Well this is disappointing news but I can't say I'm surprised. The books, if I recall correctly, spent a lot of time going over what the young man thought and felt and how alone he was, being the one of the youngest to go through the program.

Enders game was way too short.

just finished the movie

i haven't read the book, but movie wise i thought it was okay. Ender was a master strategist, loved that.

but man, that sure was a weird angle/storyline of love with ender and valentine.

If you think that story line in the movie was weird then you should read the book. Actually, listen to the audio book and it will seem double weird.
