Who deserves more credit for the success this year with a limited team as far as weapons go?

Personally, I always thought a great quarterback can make any coach look better than they are.

So I lean Brady.

Belichick and its not close.

Brady is a good QB in a great system. Matt Cassell went 11-5 in the season without him. Brady has the luxury of one of the best defensive minds of all time as his head coach, an amazing front office, and an offense that requires him to dink and dunk the ball to sure handed guys out of the slot and giant TE's.

Don't get me wrong, Brady is very good, but he is not the reason they won two of those 3 Super Bowls. Belichick and his defense is.

ETA:

Brady obviously had a coupe amazing seasons with Moss and Welker, but outside of that, he's mainly been a system guy that played smart and let his strong defense win games.

Peyton M IS the offense. They don't need an OC because he is one.

I know you qualify it by saying "weapons" but generally speaking the talk about how the limited Patriots overachieved is really overblown. They have good players.

In their Super Bowl years, they were nasty when they needed to be.

This year with all of those injuries I think is more of an argument for Belichick since the defense lost Mayo and Wilfork who anchored the whole D.

Brady is one the greatest that ever played at his position. He has excelled all of these years without a constant number 1 receiver year in and year out. Brady made the Patriots relevant again in Belichick's system.

Good players sure, but when your primary target is J. Edelman you have to think limited is the right word.

I respectfully disagree on the bolded points.

He has not been great all these years. The first couple of super bowl years were mediocre.

Belichick's system in NE has always been relevant and remained relevant when Matt fricking Cassell was the QB.

Belichick is one of the best coaches to ever coach the game IMO. He's an amazing defensive coach as well as an amazing offensive coach. Rare breed. His offenses, especially this year, have no true identity. One game they'll run like that's what they do, the next game Brady airs it out.

Eta: I think Brady is one of the best QBs to play the game as well. May be cliche, but it truly is a match made in heaven.

this statement is so retarded

"yeah he put up 50 TDs but I mean who cares?"

Brady has been through about 5 different "systems" in his time in New England and has succeeded in them all.

I don't think you put Brady on a crappy team he would make them good. His team has always been very underrated around him. The Patriots front office might be the best in sports. They trade to load up on later draft picks and draft quality guys. Usually no headline studs, but quality throughout the lineup. Edelman is so fricking underrated its hilarious.

You put Peyton Manning on a crappy team, they are instantly competing for division titles. See the Colts the year after he was gone and Patriots when Brady was gone.

Thats just like, my opinion, man.

Going to bed. Later fellas.

I agree.

I like the Pats too and think Brady is great. I just think that highly of Belichick.

IMO, he's the best coach ever. This year with all of these injuries has convinced me of that.

I'm rooting for a good game tomorrow night and for both LSU major contributors to do it big.

Cheers
