X-fer contacts from old android to iphone

I just made the switch from my old arse Motorola Atrix 2 to the iPhone 5s. I waited for an hour at AT&T when this nerd Bryan tried to transfer my contacts.
His little machine didnt work so he tried to do it through an app which only brought contacts that are only A-N or ones that are really old and had been deleted a long time ago.
I still have my old phone that can connect to internet. Is there an app out there that will let me transfer all of my contacts? I dont want gmail on my main mail account, i would rather the gmail app.
Please help. Thank in advance!

you have gmail correct? it saves your contacts and when you sync your new POS phone it will have all your contacts.... right?

What i am trying to do is avoid duplicate contacts from my gmail acct. Also i didn't want to sync my Mail acct with gmail bc i like the gmail app better (which i figured out how to do).
Whats done is done. I got the iphone. Haters gonna hate. I like it bc its small. I dont want a tablet/phone.

If i was you i would sync your contacts through gmail and then spend some time one day on a computer and either delete duplicates or merge them. its a lot easier to do on the computer than with your phone.
