Taking a trip in Oct for Food and Wine fest/Hollywood horror night at Universal and would like to keep it under 200 a night for the room since we will only need to be there once we've had too much to drink. Also would rather not stay at the all-star resorts if I can help it.

Any of the Disney value resorts should be in that range, all star, art of animation, etc...

Might be able to get into Coronado Springs for less than $200.

Caribbean Beach Resort at Disney. If you're going to put in a day or 2 in the Disney parks, it's pretty good.

That's very much an off-peak time, so you can count on 40% off at most luxury resorts. Might get you down near $200/night

What's your issue with All Stars? You can try the newly opened Art of Animation that is part of the value resort section.

for that time period you can get Caribbean beach or coronado for 160-180, not sure if the wine festival will jack up the prices

Caribbean is good. I have also stayed at Coronado which is nice as well.

Actually going with Art of Animation this summer. They have some awesome Nemo and Lion King rooms (although those are more pricey than the Little Mermaid ones they have under $200).

It depends on the exact dates. The prices go up right after the F&W Festival opens up. It's changed over the last several years, right at the end of September. Still you can usually get the 30-40% coupons or even a PIN discount for those dates.

I have a room reserved at this resort for this summer. How was the place? I am a SPG member and have some free nights or split nights with cash and points. If you book in advance the rooms are only $150 pre paid and they all have kitchenette's.

The PINs are completely random, but I think they go out mostly to regulars like me. They generally offer slightly better deals than you normally see throughout the year. The regular discounts are on their website. Also if you watch the MouseSavers website they'll put out discounts for offsite places as well. Lots of deals to be had offsite if you don't want to pay onsite prices.

Your link takes me too their main website. Houses are really a great option if you have a few families wanting to stay together. Some are really enormous mansions for hardly nothing if you divide up the costs.
