When I watch him I just don't see what all the hype is about. Now don't get me wrong, I think he'll be a solid potentially above average QB, but nothing more, and never elite. I feel bad for Texans fans who think this guy is the savior and will come in day one and lead their team to a SB.

I just can't justify taking a player not named Newton, Luck, etc over a once in a generation talent in Clowney. I think his motivation problems are way overblown and if I were him I'd be taking it easy this year as well. It's not like he chose to stay at USCe and slacked, he was forced to. I wouldnt want to risk injury when I'd be a top 10 pick regardless of my performance for the year. I highly doubt this negative trait follows him to the NFL.

I don't see him as a durable nor quality QB in the least. NOt sure what the hype is all about. Frankly, I didn't see it with JWinston either.

You're judging him like he's not a freshmen QB

I'm glad I'm not the only one. I just think you can find equal/better Qb talent later in the draft, especially where the Texans are picking at 33. But there won't be a prospect close to Clowney, Barr, or Mathews that late.

The same crap they are saying about Bridgewater they were saying about Geno Smith last year. How did that work out?

The thing is, if they don't have a qb, they still won't win.

This is true haha. I was watching the Dan Patrick show the other day and pretty much every major mock from a year ago, on Jan 1 before last year's draft all had Geno as the number one pick. I think people will start to wise up the closer we get to the draft.

I understand what you're saying, but people are comparing him to Andrew Luck. How are we supposed to judge him?

Can you? QBs don't grow on trees.... it is extremely difficult to evaluate QBs but by just about all metrics and critics, Bridgewater is at the top of the class.

Clowney is a safer pick for HOU specifically but drafting Clowney isn't going to win HOU a superbowl next season.

Bridgewater has the potential to win HOU a superbowl depending on how he pans out and he is almost certainly an upgrade over their current qb.

No one on this board can tell you if Bridgewater will bust or boom in the NFL but if he does boom he is certainly worth that #1 pick.

You can make the same claims you are saying for just about every qb in the last 5 years... outside of Luck who else has been basically a sure thing at qb? You are always going to be gambling.

I think teams have a better chance at hitting on a QB in RD 1 then they do on drafting a qb late.

Personally here's how I look at it:

Best case scenario, Teddy will play well enough for the team to win, but he will not go out and win the game for you...if that makes sense.

ETA: Basically I think to make a deep run, the Texans would have to be firing on all cylinders, playing almost perfect ball. I don't think he can pick up the slack for other units.

he doesn't really jump out at you physically, but he's really accurate and is said to have a high football IQ. maybe teams think he's another Aaron Rodgers.

I haven't watched him nearly enough to say if he will be good or not.

Nor have I, he sure as shite hasn't gone against enough top flight competition to say one way or the other.

3 of the 4 QBs left this year were drafted after RD1..

In fact the average draft position of a playoff QB the last 3 years is 31.4 and I'm being generous with that because I gave the Vikings Ponder and not Webb. So that's right around the Texans second pick.

I think he is going to slide down the board faster than Brady Quinn.

People bitch about Tebow's motion, well JW's is the same motion and Tebow's faster/more mobile than JW.
