Wasn't the DC fired from Oklahoma State in the mid 2000s?
Some of their position coach hires are good, but others leave me shaking my head. OC hire needs to be high quality.

Yes Bedford got canned from OkState. Wick is a great hire, he took 2 star guys and put them into the NFL. He will kick arse now that he can consistently get his top targets committed.

Bedford was a badass at UF. Coached some damn good CB's and helped develop them.

seriously ranters, for the most part all of the anti texas conjecture and negative hyperbole regarding the texas hires are making ALL of you sound like Bamas new BFF. some of you are parroting they aggy party lines. if you dont look out soon you will be talking about the BOMC (Burnt Orange Media Conspiracy) yes they believe in it.
the defensive hires are as solid as can be. the offensive hires could be great with a great OC.
there is a huge disparity between what the old "insiders and BMD's" want in terms of hires and what the administration wants. regrettably the "insiders" are the ones talking. they dont know shite apparently. its just slinging doo doo at a wall.

not so much here, not too much negativity. but throughout the majority of the threads re: the situation.
I think most texas fans realize that there are not any leaks to the media. so any "wish lists and its happenings" are just pure speculation to keep the 9.95 subscriptions rolling in.
It absolutely does look like a circus from the outside though.

Over the last few years oSU's line consistently won the line of scrimmage & got 2nd and 3rd level penetration into the D.

Wickline is a huge get. He crafted road grater O-lines from spare parts. Imagine what he can do with blue chips.
Him being co-OC with Watson is hella bad though. UT whiffing on hiring any OC at all, much less a splash hire, is terrible. The truth is that Watson will be the OC, which is what everyone said all along, and what UT fans have feared.
