California teachers' lawsuit over mandatory union dues moving forward

Essentially the teachers are claiming that mandatory union dues (which by law are permitted in "union shop" states, where joining a union can be made a requirement for employment) are violations of free speech.

In California???

I will be absolutely apoplectic if these plaintiffs win.

I hope they do, but can't see it happening in this state.
