Is Far Cry 2 any good?

FC3 is alright. I'm part of the crew that wasn't a huge fan of it. It was simply an alright game.
The protagonist is one of the worst in the history of gaming which is one of the reasons why I don't rank it as highly as others.

I hated having to play as him because I knew that when I finished a mission, I would have to listen to his whiny, bitch voice as he complained and moaned.
The more I think about it, the more I realize the title is perfect.
The dude was on a FAR away island and all he did was CRY.

I think it's pretty good, but if you have played Far Cry 3 first, it's hard to go back.

It was the WORST game I have ever played until Assassin's Creed III. It is now the 2nd worst on my list.
Skip it and just play Far Cry 3. (One of my favorites)

Far Cry 2 is terrible. I bought it for $2.99 and was pissed I wasted that much money on it. I have no idea how it has an 85 on metacritic. Ubisoft must have paid some serious money for those reviews. Driving was terrible and you had to do it all the time. The world was designed all weird. The medicine aspect was a bother. Guns wore down way too quickly. All around pile of dog crap.

Everybody in Far Cry 2 will try to kill you. The game forces you to drive all over the place while throwing infinitely re-spawning checkpoints in the way AND having every car you pass on the road trying to kill you. I estimate that you would have made it around ~30 minutes in (2 weeks IRL gametime for you) before you quit

Skip 2. It laid a lout of good groundwork for 3, but overall it was a pretty pure effort.
I did enjoy its multiplayer a lot though. Was a bit disappointed when they took all vehicles out of fc3 multiplayer.
