Per Joe Schad
quote:

@schadjoe: Bobby Petrino has been offered and is expected to become the next Louisville coach per source close to decision

Seems legit.

Mad it wasnt Narduzzi. Guy is the best D coordinator in college football. How is Dantonio hanging on to that guy?

I guess that Louisville is looking for a short-term fix.

Let's hope for their sake that his tendency to accumulate shady-arse talent doesn't bite them in the arse when the next coach takes over in a few years, like it did when Kragthorpe took over for him when he left for the Falcons.

Stolen from Latarian on the CC board:

I sort of thought he might stay at least 2 years at WKU, but it's not surprising.

You accepted Petrino's 4am booty call? That's what this seems like doesn't it.

Good hire, until he leaves them with another complete rebuild in 4-5 years.

In 4-5 years? I'm thinking closer to 2-3.

Maybe he likes being at State? I like Mich St, and maybe he just wants to stay there, maybe win something bigger. Maybe he's holding out for a bigger job than Louisville.

So they'll now have him (back) on top of Pitino.

They let corporate sponsors give their facilities ridiculous names. They don't give two shits when the Pitino scandal goes down even though he believed he was paying for an abortion for an extramarital squeeze. And now they hire back the very sleazeball would already screwed them over before.

Louisville has to be the most shameless athletic department in the country. They don't even care about putting on airs of integrity.

I suppose, perhaps, in some ways there's something to be said for that. But, yes, I think you're right on here.

He's gotta give it time for the buyout to decrease some.

Loyalty and he likes working with the current people at MSU I guess.

When Sumlin was first hired at A&M Narduzzi was his first choice as DC. He was offered a huge pay raise and seemed like he would come but when he went back to tell Dantonio he changed his mind and stayed.

One year at Louisville means a 10-2 season in the acc, and the next head coaching job at UF.
