Correct me if I'm wrong but

* Sims doesn't camp at LSU because he'd have to pay
* LSU doesn't offer if you dont camp
* Bama sees a chance to ding LSU by offering Sims and in return gets his good buddy and CRob
* Many LSU fans were not worried because theres enough talent in TQ, MD, SN to let Sims go - who in turn has a decent UA showing
* Now SN is gone and the MD sureness isnt so much anymore.

Why would we not offer if you dont camp? A late offer goes to Valentine, and he will never camp. Once I counted Bamas offers in a single year. They offered like 125 players while at the same point in time LSU offered like 70. Im sure with national recruiting not all make it to Bama for camp. Or do they pay for it?

Maybe Sims LSU offer or not would have gone to Bama and the dominoes would have fallen the same. But on the surface its looking like a serious case of cutting off the nose to spite the face by not offering Sims.

Im very thankful for guys like LF, TQ, BH and the others for choosing the Tigers. But the LA class that couldve been didnt happen.

Just someone explain the camp thing, are they invited and who pays. Differences between LSU and other schools.... Thx

Probably not a lot of people will admit it but the staff made a mistake. It's not the 1st time or last time it will happen. Oh yeah and DUCK!!!

Sims did camp at LSU once before and was miserably bad, that's why we didn't offer. He ran a 4.8 40 and couldnt get any separation.

If I was a betting man I would bet on this being the only reason why Sims got an offer. Bama takes chances on La kids that LSU doesn't won't or is a trouble maker.

LSU does not recruit like this. Sims will probably not even be on the team in another year. Saban don't care about the kids he just want to win at all cost.

Lacy was off the field issues and major grades issues.

Lacy would never had made it in at LSU on grades, Bama pulls the old smoke and mirrors and gets him in with the help of JC.

Sims grades are not as bad as Lacy but still a reach.

Hootie hasn't played well the last 2 seasons in high school, and after being told by 2 high school line judges that Cam has bad footwork, we all saw the same thing in the All Star camp and game.

All I'm saying is that if CRob signs his papers BEFORE Sims....look for Saban to pull his offer....he's done it before on NSD

Wasnt Sims a standout at the AA game? At least some of the practices his name was mentioned as being one of the top WR's there... (I think)

I guess what im saying is knowing our WM situation of late, was Sims that bad to not offer? Worse than offering a kicker or any other players currently or in past years? Spears?

Did we really not understand the relationship between CR hootie and Sims??

Recruiting is coming to where some pgms know what kind of M&Ms recruits like. Details......

Sims has good hands and good size. He's a bit slow.

I wouldn't call him a "standout" at the AA game. He had a nice catch.

Jacory Washinton was a standout at the AA game more than Sims, for sure.

I've seen the same thing with Sims too. He does seem slow in pads. It'll probably get a little better once he's in a college conditioning program.

ANYONE at this point that thinks we don't get CR if Sims was offered is simply being naive. I don't know where we end up or if this class is better without them, but it is obvious that Cr would for sure be here and so would Hootie most likely...

But seriously, who would have known? Simms really sucks for not showing at the camp and earning it..his best friend is #1 OT and another friend is #1 safety..Shockingly, his decision changed all of there lives forever

I would've thought Speedy and GWIII going in opposite directions would tell you that the whole "package deal" rumor is overrated. We could've offered Sims and CRob could just as easily have still gone to Bama. Then we would've been stuck with a WR we didn't really want.

It's been a while and I don't have time to follow all that closely.

Just to be straight, how EXACTLY did the Sims camp situation go down?

I'd heard that LSU wasn't going to offer him until he camped, but Sims would have to pay the camp fee, and he balked at that. Had he camped before?

I can see LSU not being interested because of the talent of TQ, SN, MD, etc and at the time, Landry and Beckham hadn't completed their monster seasons and were in no way a lock to go pro.

BUT, we already had issues with recruiting the WM area, especially in terms with Bama. Maybe Bama really didn't want Kenny Bell either, and after 5 years, he's had a pedestrian career on the field with the Tide, but from a recruiting standpoint, has been pure gold. They took Luther Davis for the same reason. Maybe Falkins and Sylve too.

If Bama can do it (meaning take players they really don't want) for the bigger picture, why couldn't we? We may end up this year with 3 or 4 players we "really don't want" but need to fill in the class.

The "earn the offer" thing doesn't fly with me. How many of our class this year will have camped with us at some point in time?? Do we tell Adoree we don't want him because he didn't camp and earn it?

Of course, any player who wants to go to LSU should want to camp if offered, but if not, I don't think it should be a black and white decision if they don't.

Asked Bama what a Scholarship worthy kicker is worth. I have never had a problem offering them How many games have kickers won for us in the Les Miles era? A lot more than Russell Sheppard ever did as a 5* player.

You can go through La, Miss, or Texas and find a 100 players as good as Sims. He nor CR are make or break players for our program.
