I wish we would stick to a more pro style offense. Never fails duel threat QBs just don't pan out throwing the ball accurately for a high percentage.
I know there are a few exceptions

What style do you prefer?

I don't know if AJ is going to turn out very good or not but frankly, I don't perceive him as a "dual threat" QB. A mobile QB? Yeah. But, he is really supposed to be considered a pro-style QB who can move. He hardly looks like a Nick Marshall type.

QB RANKS

Dual threats and mobile QBs outnumber the pocket passers by a lot.

I like big strong pocket passers, myself.

However, that kid from Oklahoma makes me jealous.

I think it's sort of a fluke if you get a dual threat kid who is successful if he can't pass. I don't think you'll make a long term living there primarily because the odds he ends up sidelined are so great.

But, I don't really, in a perfect world, want a statue either because he is also likely to get hurt unless your O-Line is great. I want a kid who is primarily a passer but has "escapability" and the defense has to respect as a run threat if the pocket breaks down.

Reorder that into efficiency, its much more even.

The pocket passers tend to have more balanced attacks and are clock grinders. Also tend to have better defenses negating the need to score quick and often.

Why compare these two. I don't even know what style JJ was. Dude couldn't run or pass for shite. I would have rather seen JC copeland out there passing. If you want to compare the two then say you like the Mett style better than the Ryan Perriloux style. Two good LSU quarterbacks that were different styles.
