Read in the paper the. Saints brought Popeye's chicken and red beans to eat yesterday or today. I wish the Saints would study nutrition more thoroughly and how it effects performance. Most athletes are O blood type and red beans are a not good for Os. Their bodies react like someone with hay fever reacts to ragweed, i.e.,antigens are released. Image taking the SAT with hay fever. One can do it but it makes it more difficult. Also, the fried foods make the cell membranes more rigid and impermeable which interferes with the transfer of oxygen and energy, all of which effects performance.

I remember when the LSU basketball team with Tyrus Thomas defeated Texas and Duke to advance to the final four. Then LSU fans showed up and plied them with red beans and fried catfish. I surmised the team would play awful because their systems would be "off key" and the team played perhaps the worst game of the season.

The Saints have been off kilter enough being on the road and the extreme cold weather will add to that but throwing their systems off nutritionally will make winning even more difficult. I realize they took Popeye's food with them when they played in the Super Bowl but they went to Miami a week early and probably didn't have those foods within 48 hours of the game.

Why the Saints doesn't look at nutrition more is incomprehensible to me. One would not buy a Mercedes and then put junk fuel in it and expect it to run properly. I just hope the Eagles management feed their players types of food that are equally bad for them.
