My bad. It must be during certain times of the day maybe.

92.3 was solid though. That really sucks when good stations get switched to country .

105.1 in lafayette is more similar to 92.3, but their coverage area is pretty small now. I guess we're lucky to still have 2 rock stations.

I haven't listen to Big D & Bubba since I'm working for the other two guys that come on in NOLA but I hear that's the new station they'll be on.

I hope this isn't true. Country radio is garbage and now NOLA won't have a rock station at all?

Face it - rock radio is dead in NOLA. this is what, the third station to drop the format in the last decade? I'd seriously doubt that they get another station for a while, which is only going to hurt getting shows at good venues at places like the HoB.

[quote]Assuming that the mixed up genres is a clue, it might be switching to some sort of "Jack" style format. [/quote

Left the house earlier and they were playing soft rock , then they started with classic country and then came jacko and the pop music ,,,

I guess we'll find out at 9:23 am Monday

Rock was alive and well through the 90's and early 2000's, had great shows come through here at uno and the hob frequently - even had Endfest during the summer months. But it just shite the bed after 2002 and never recovered. when 1067 the end shut down post-Katrina, rock radio never recovered. I listen to Octane/LM on XM or Rock 93.7 in Lafayette, never really like 92.3 much because it was more poppy rock that would play on B97. Hell, half the time I wondered if they even thought that they were still playing rock music...

I am hearing 92.3 will become one of Cumulus' Nash-FM stations. like 99.1 KXKC in Lafayette.

Country it is.

97.9 WCPR is huge over here on the Ms. Coast. They are everywhere and do some huge rock shows and stuff. The DJ's are all from New Orleans.

I've always wondered why 979 didnt get a transmitter in Slidell and just take over New Orleans rock radio kinda like how 93.7 has done in BR. I've been to a few CPR fests and listen to them anytime I'm east of Covington - really good station that plays actual modern rock with a splash of metal.

Your linky no worky.

You're saying 106.1 will just be national now (NBC/Rome, etc). Who will carry Tulane? Sports Hangover is gone?
