thing is, that hasn't been happening. they're all making rosters and getting paid.

so question.

in two years, if all these guys that are expected to leave do in fact leave, how many is that?

Almost 20 I think.

I'll say it again, nobody is going to compete losing that much talent early. Nobody

We'll always compete but we'll also always lack senior leadership.

this is where using forced attrition in order to ink 22-25 big recruits every year kind of bites you in the butt.

i assume that most of these kids assume that leaving early, without a high draft grade, simply puts them closer to the second pro contract. which we know is where the real money is for a few of them.

This. And if RG isn't valued now, it won't be next year eitehr. It isn't about draft position so much as just getting your career started. I don't like it, but I get it.

well that makes more sense.
forgive me if I'm jaded towards the sheer ignorance of this board that anytime I see something like that I immediately assume it's another "LSU sucks" rant

In my defense, I hadn't really read the rest of the thread so I didn't take your post in context

Are any other top programs the last few years experiencing the same sort of attrition that we are with a bunch of underclassmen leaving early that should probably stay another year?

Agreed. Regardless of how great a recruting class (and the 2014 is clearly the worst ever in NCAA history), you can't replace experience.

There is no spin to it, losing multiple underclassmen every year hurts. Especially when those players are on the lines.

I'd be interested in the stats, but in many cases starting one's career a year too soon isn't really a plus...

he better train hard for the draft because he looks tremendously out of shape.

Needs a longer jersey to cover up the results of holiday decadence.

Chance Warmack, roughly the same size as Trai. #10 overall pick in the last draft. obviously Trai doesn't have the hype, experience, or accolades, but I could see him looking at Warmack and thinking he's somewhat comparable.

So we lacked senior leadership when Loston, Barrow, and Mett all stayed? These guys just gave their heart out in their last games. The Rant is ridiculous sometimes.

Perhaps, but these kids tend not to think that way. Doesn't matter what happened before, they are certain THEY will make the NFL.

On the other hand, the more players in the NFL for LSU, the better the recruiting tool.

I don't know that Loston and Barrow were really leaders but I see your point. Mett absolutely was.
