I was adopted by my maternal grandmother but I was so young when it happened (1 yr old) that I really don't remember anything about it.

I was adopted at 3 days old. My mother is routinely late everywhere she goes so to really get her I always bring up that she was even late to her sons birth.

We adopted my son when he was 9.....he's 19 now. We still celebrate adoption day every year.

I started dating his mother when he was 2 and a half. Adopted him when we got married and he was 5.

I would need to know the criminal background of each parent. A lot of behavior is genetic.

And don't ever adopt a foster child... something like 90 percent of them will be in jail at one point in their life

I don't know how you define "a lot", but most behavior is learned. And common sense should tell you that the foster child issue has more to do with the environment they grow up in, and be shuttled from place to place. The feelings of not being wanted or loved. Not genetics.

its pretty dead on though, unless you catch them early in the foster home cycle. Like maybe after their first or second home. Once they go through the system for a while though, they pretty much lose the ability to make personal connections and generally dont give a frick about people. I dont blame them to be honest, if I was treated like a free paycheck like a lot of these foster homes do I'd probably be more fricked up than I already am. And you can read the SECr and see that I am a pretty fricked up indivudual.

Weren't you just bitching about some loser being falsely imprisoned?

My husbands 8 year old is technically adopted, though not through the legal process, which I'm sure is more what the video is about.
I don't know anyone personally who has gone through it, but I used to post on a high risk pregnancy board and lots of those ladies had gone through it.
