yea but that was due to injuries. He didn't come in and earn the job.

Lee was hurt against Ole Miss and JJ finished the game. Then he started against Arkansas. Lee was a RS Freshman that year.

I can't think of a major program who had a true freshman start out of the gate recently.

Texas Tech's starting QB this year was a walk on true freshman. Of course, he's now left the team, and plans to enroll at Oklahoma.

Anyone that thinks Harris will start needs to watch the Under Armour Skills Competition from tonight. He's skinny and very erratic with his throws. He has an absolute cannon, 66 yard throw, but missed the entire target at times. He'll need to add weight and work on a few things.

Hodson was a Red Shirt Freshman when he started against Texas A&M. He really looked like a Senior!

Harris has a lot of work to make up in the accuracy department. But that is not unheard of for a freshman QB. He has all the tools, but needs a lot of work on fundamentals. I'm just glad Cam is there to help establish Harris' foundation.

Chris Leak started at Florida from day 1, but he negotiated that with Coach Ron Zook before he committed. Chris Leak was considered the nations top QB prospect, so he said he would go to the program that guaranteed he would start from day 1.

His older brother played QB at TN, and got pulled quickly and moved to WR. I'm sure that affected his commitment process.
