Not even taking officials to the state schools, he's been to them that many times?

Several insiders say its going to be really tough to pull him from the state

Never understood at all why LSU fans thought we would get him in the first place.

I thing someone in the media said we have a strong case for him.

I didn't need much to get excited.

We are always lucky to get any out of state guys of his caliber, so its not surprising he's sticking around his home. Probably a good move for him and his family.

I really wanted Hootie. Serious speed and much needed size at WLB.

McDowell wants to play in the SEC and his coach said he was giddy after an in home from Haley. LSU put 9 players and six free agents in the draft and league this year including 3 DEs: Mingo and Montgomery the best speed rushing, quarterback tandem John Chavis has ever seen and Lavar Edwards. Mingo and Montgomery did not even visit LSU until late Jan - the same two weekends we have Carter and McDowell. The recruiting is just beginning in earnest for many recruits after the dead period. He will get here with LSU having a record #1 class and he will be wanting his ticket punched to be coached up on the team that has played the hardest SOS over the past 6 yrs, with only 11 teams 'total' playing tougher schedules through 2012. Over the same period, Alabama never played one season with as strong of a schedule as our weakest. Same this yr. We were 2nd in SEC and Bama was last. Much more to come...the best. We had the #1 class in 2009 too.

Better shot at Carter and I don't think we get him, either. You're right, we will at least have a shot with them on campus.
